The BAT proudly presents its 3rd National Congress, titled “Anesthesiology 360° – Beyond the Operation Room.”
This year, we invite you to join us on an inspiring journey through the full spectrum of anesthesiology — far beyond the familiar walls of the operating theatre.
The classic image of an anesthesiologist as a coffee-sipping doctor quietly watching monitors in the OR is long outdated. Our profession reaches much further. Anesthesiologists are the unseen backbone of patient safety — active in critical areas throughout the hospital and far beyond it.
Beyond the controlled environment of the operating room, anesthesiologists are indispensable in non-OR locations such as the cath lab, endoscopy, and radiology. These settings demand adaptability and rapid decision-making, where every second counts and every mistake matters.
In the intensive care unit, anesthesiologists care for the sickest patients, managing life-support therapies and guiding them through their most vulnerable moments.
In the emergency department, they provide trauma resuscitation, airway management, nerve blocks, and difficult IV access — often in life-threatening situations.
On the maternity ward, anesthesiologists ensure safe pain relief during childbirth and respond instantly to emergencies where two lives are at stake.
Their reach extends beyond the hospital walls — to humanitarian missions in low-resource settings, military operations, and medical coverage at major events and festivals. Wherever patients need immediate, expert care, anesthesiologists are there.
Anesthesiologists are also deeply involved in education and scientific research. They train the next generation of doctors and nurses, develop safer anesthesia techniques, and advance knowledge through cutting-edge research in physiology, pharmacology, and patient safety. Their work continues to shape the future of modern medicine.
While our profession is built on precision and care, complications and complaints can still arise. This congress will also address a place where we hope to be as little as possible — the medical court. Sessions will explore how to handle medical complaints, communicate transparently, and learn from critical incidents to grow as professionals and protect both our patients and ourselves.
“Anesthesiology 360°” is more than a title — it’s a vision. This congress celebrates the diversity, responsibility, and depth of our field, from the operating room to the ICU, from the classroom to the courtroom. Join us for inspiring talks, interactive sessions, and real-life discussions that will redefine how we see our profession.
